Morning Art - We Kill You

"The street art is where it all began. In 2003 I had drawn 6 little monsters. I thought it would be really funny if I could glue a collage of them under a bridge near my house where the local kids like to do their graffiti. I photocopied about 100 of these monsters and made glue out of flower and water, like they had taught us in grade school with paper mache. It looked great so I continued to do it all around my neighborhood and branched out into the downtown core of Toronto. At the time I had no idea that
what I was doing was called Wheat Pasting and was being done by artists all around the world.

I slowly started to move the monsters onto other things aside from the walls. I would find old furniture, fridge doors, dressers, televisions and all sorts of other things in the garbage that I wanted to repaint and cover with monsters and put back on the street for people to enjoy. I call this Exterior Decorating. Sometimes these pieces get taken to a good home, and sometime they are just tossed in the garbage, but one way or they other I had turned garbage into a piece of art.

Another commonly seen piece of WKY street art is the Plaque. These are small wooden cut outs that kind of look like trophy plaques with monsters painted on them. These little plaques pop up in all nooks and crannies and give the feeling of a city wide scavenger hunt."
